Manly Beach
Manly, Australia, located 33 degrees 47minutes South, 151
degrees 17 minutes East is the jewel of the north shore. It offers both
harbor and ocean beaches, and all the trappings of a full scale holiday
resort with a great sense of community, and is a short 30 minute ferry
ride from downtown Sydney.
If you're looking for a relaxing, "fun in the sun" place to
sit for a while, this is it. Surfing, sailing, walking or just laying on
the beach, are some of the local pastimes.
The ideal
climate, ranging from 18-33 degrees Celsius in both summer and
winter, makes outdoor activities such as bar-b-queing a breeze
and local food quality is high with prices reasonable.
Beautiful Sydney Harbor
Manly has many "walkabouts" or walking tours
ranging from 30 minutes to hours, depending on your walking speed. These
tours feature stunning vistas of the famous Sydney Harbor. We walked a two
hour trek to North Point, the northern boundary for entry into the harbor.
Paved trails with modest inclines made this 4 mile journey an easy morning
hike.
A must see is the Royal Australian Artillery National Museum, with many
artifacts and displays detailing Australia’s involvement in World War
II. On another day, hiking out to the Spit Bridge was equally rewarding.
View from our apartment - Little Manly Cove
Rentals are plentiful, both furnished and unfurnished,

bedroom apartment, close to Queenscliff Beach is $1,000 AUD a month.
A two bedroom spacious unit, with a large balcony and magnificent
million dollar harbor views goes for $2,500 AUD.
So, if you're looking for "the good life" at reasonable
prices, Manly, Australia is worth a look.
Clean, accessible, and tourist friendly, Manly rises to the top of our
list of places for a return visit.
