Cristiania Park in Chapala,
Mexico, offers six of the finest maintained tennis courts in the lakeside area.
Two sandpit volleyball courts are available daily. The fully stocked pro shop is
open daily, and players of all levels are welcome and can easily find a match.
Truly this is a one-of-a-kind
tennis facility where Gringos play weekday mornings, and stronger Mexican
players cover the courts in the afternoons. On weekends you'll find a full mix of
fine local talent as well as visiting Guadalajara's players.

This beautiful park is
located on the water's edge of Lake Chapala, and can be accessed easily by
driving East through Chapala. Or ask anyone and they can direct you.

The court charges are the
lowest in the area, in fact the world, at $2 US per hour, per court. You
cannot find cheaper entertainment. Beers are only a buck, and soft drinks are
fifty cents. Recently, I attended a social where for $5 US I got all the tennis I
wanted, a large steak, potatoes, salads and deserts. We were asked to bring a
dish for 6-8 people. |

Fun tennis and social
events take place regularly, and many lifelong friendships have been started
here.
Akaisha and I have played
tennis in many locations around the world, but Chapala Tennis is by far the most
fun. On court we have fierce battles for pride followed by the traditional
handshakes and usually a few beers. Sometimes as new players arrive throughout
the morning, we continue to play more.
What a great way to meet
new friends, stay in shape, and enjoy the beauty of Lake Chapala.
Every level of play can
find a game here. All you have to do is show up, ask a couple of the friendly
folks and you will begin to experience the reason why so many return to this
beautiful facility year after year. |

Volleyball is available
daily, however you are invited to join a group that shows up every Tuesday,
Thursday and Saturday for 10 Pesos per person. It's a great value.
