Retire Early Lifestyle is a content based website that appeals to a different kind of person - the person who prizes their independence, values their time, and who doesn't want to mindlessly follow the crowd.

I really enjoyed your article on bargaining, too. I’ve definitely fallen prey to the Western way of thinking before. But when you view bargaining as adding an element of personal interaction that allows people “to peer inside” each other’s persons, it sounds so much more appealing! In fact, it sounds like all the excuse I need to hop down to a market in Mexico.

BOO-YA! Way to go! I would amend that award to Top 5 at least!!!!! Keep it up. I believe you are the BEST!

How to Double Your Social Security Check
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

The average monthly 2017 Social Security check is $1,342, which is $45.00 per day, or a little over $16,000 per year. Stories abound about how people are not able to live - or only struggle to get by - on their Social Security income in the United States. Even if they can manage to walk the budget tightrope, it’s not much of a retirement to look forward to and usually it's one that is supplemented with work. You can do better.

Saigon Coffee Houses
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

It is a little known fact that coffee helped transform the economy of Vietnam. The Vietnam war ended in 1975 and the country was on its economic knees. Soviet copied financial policies did nothing to help and collectivizing agriculture proved to be a disaster.

Don't Retire Early! - Is Suze Orman Right?
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

Recently, I watched a video of Suze Orman, a personal finance guru, being interviewed about the very popular FIRE movement (Financial Independence Retire Early). It was exactly 23 minutes into the hour plus video when I had to shut it off. I couldn’t take anymore fear mongering and negative “sky is falling” scenarios. Listening to this video, I was both aghast and disappointed. However, Suze made some excellent points worth considering which I list below.

Real Investment Report
Lance Roberts

Market Review & Recap - Over the last couple of weeks we discussed the “wild swings” in the market in terms of price movements from overbought, to oversold, and now back again. The quote below is from two week’s ago but is apropos again this week. “Despite the underlying economic and fundamental data, the markets have surged back to extremely overbought, extended, and deviated levels. On virtually every measure, markets are suggesting the fuel for an additional leg higher in assets prices is extremely limited.”

One of the best things about traveling is the exposure to local culinary delights. We have a saying that we order what we want, but we eat what we get -- no complaints are allowed. For the most part we are thrilled with our meals and below we share some of the memorable ones with you.

Creating a Lifestyle of Meaning within Your Retirement
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

At various times in our lives all of us come to a fork in the road - that place where we need to make a decision about where we want to go for our future. Picking a career, choosing a spouse, or determining whether or not to have children are examples of these significant junctures.

Top Ten Questions and Answers on Medical Tourism
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

Because Billy and I live a lifestyle of travel, we often get readers asking us basic questions about medical tourism. Below we have the answers to some of the most common questions we get asked. How do you know if this option will work for you? The following should help you decide.

My Case for Financial Assets
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

When I was a stock broker in California - one of the hottest housing markets in the US - real-estate was my competition. “Everyone” was making money in real-estate so why would they invest in the stock market? I needed an angle.

Video - MARVELOUS, GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL boat ride on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. See the indigenous Maya wash their laundry in the lake, fishermen in their cayucos, and the villages dotting all around this ancient volcanic lake. A must-see.

Our Five Reasons to Retire Abroad
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

In all fairness, we believe there are two solidly different camps: those who could easily move abroad and thrive and those for whom that decision would be a disaster. I doubt that the twain will ever meet and they don’t need to do so. Given that, we thought the reasons Mr. Barnabic gave were tired and bordered on fear mongering, which is silly.

Everyone Loves a Bargain - excerpt from The Adventurer's Guide to Destination Choices
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

I’m a world traveler and I’m here to help. Grown adults from the U.S. and Canada can find themselves shaking in their boots, confused, frustrated, or even angry when it comes to bargaining for goods in foreign countries. It’s safe to say that most Anglos find it distasteful, yet bargaining is inherent in many cultures around the world. Native peoples have developed this communication skill for centuries, exchanging live chickens for bags of rice, avocadoes or woven cloth.

VIDEO - Back on the Beach at Chacala, Mexico

Completely mesmerizing, Chacala Beach calls over and over. Watch a paddle boarder, see the yacht harbor where the fishermen dock their boats. Sailors come and go in this peace-filled harbor, listen to the waves.
