Annual Spending Update

A reader brought to our attention the fact that we have not updated our annual spending since producing this video: Adventures in Financial Independence about three years ago. As of the end of 2014, our average spending for 24 years of financial independence or 8760 days, is $22,040 annually or $60.38 per day.
As you can see from watching the video above, we have actually dropped 70 cents on a per day basis from this earlier reporting.
Our reasoning is that we have been living in cost beneficial countries such as Guatemala, Mexico, Vietnam, and Thailand more often than in the prior years, thus positively affecting our numbers. We have also cashed in some of our accumulated airline miles for travel which has saved us a considerable amount on transportation. And we have done house sitting which has helped with housing costs.
We continue to eat well, live and travel comfortably and make visits to the States to see family.
If we can do it, you can too!
