That’s right folks….Naples, Florida is not just a retirement beach town.
This city of 20,000 people, located on the southwestern shores of
Florida, is a water playground. Boating, beaching, fishing are just a
few of the many attractions. But what do you do in a beach town when it
rains? We decided to head to a local bowling alley. Woodside Lanes,
located on Radio Road, offers thirty bowling lanes, but what really got
our attention was what was going on in the lounge area.
BEAUTIFUL NAPLES BEACH
Upon arriving, we were greeted and asked what
type of beer we would be drinking…"You can’t go wrong with the four dollar
pitchers" the waitress explained. Just as she took our order, fresh from the
kitchen came large pans of hot crispy chicken wings, served with blue cheese
dressing and celery sticks…these are free every Friday from 4-6 PM….

So, now we are happily drinking our
beer, munching down these delicious wings, when out walks a college age
girl, scantly dressed in a bright yellow thong bikini! And I didn’t
think things could get any better.
As she confidently walks to our table, she explains that she is raffling
off the thong bikini. Since I figured that today must be my lucky day, I
bought 8 tickets for five dollars.
Some lady at the bar won, and I am glad I did not have to see her model
the thong, but we had great fun. So the next time it rains in Naples,
stop by Woodside Lanes…you might just be surprised.
