MONUMENT IN CHRISTCHURCH NEW ZEALAND Billy and Akaisha Kaderli |
While taking a walking tour of Christchurch, New Zealand, Akaisha and I found ourselves overlooking this dedicated monument. This is twisted steel from the World Trade Center attack on 9/11/2001, given to the City of Christchurch to honor firefighters world wide. This touched a special place in my heart, as I once worked in the Twin Towers as a stockbroker/branch manager. Even now, writing this, the feelings of sorrow and grief come over me like waves in the ocean. Any of you who had the opportunity to visit the Twin Towers know just how immense and symbolic they were. I doubt that I can put it into words. |
TOWER WRECKAGE |
In Christchurch, many were ashamed of this monument; I was proud. The senseless loss of life on that September day must never be forgotten. God Bless America. Billy |
